The NSDL webite can be used to check PAN status by choosing the application type, entering acknowledge number. It can also be tracked on the UTI website using an application coupon number or PAN number.
An individual can track the status of a PAN card application online using acknowledgement number by following the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of income tax e-filing of the Income Tax Department (ITD) at www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in.
Step 2: On the home page, click on the ‘Instant PAN through Aadhaar’ option under the ‘Quick Links’ menu listing.
Step 3: You will be redirected to a new webpage wherein you will be required to click on the ‘Check Status / Download PAN’ button.

Other Ways to Track PAN Card Status
When an applicant files for the 10-digit alphanumeric Permanent Account Number, it usually takes around 15 working days for him/her to receive the number, that is issued by the Income Tax Department. Given this reason, the department provides the applicant with a 15-digit acknowledgement number after the application is submitted. Courtesy the number, the applicant can track the status of the PAN application. Apart from visiting the official website of NSDL and UTIITSL and tracking the status of the PAN application, applicants can also do so by using the modes mentioned below:

Track PAN Card Application Status through a Telephone Call
The applicant is required to call the TIN call centre at 020-27218080 between 7:00 am and 11:00 pm. On providing the 15-digit acknowledgement number to the call centre executive, the status of the application can be obtained. It needs to be mentioned here that an applicant can also track the status of the PAN card application through IVR (Interactive Voice Response) between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am after the call centre timing.
Track PAN Card Application Status through SMS
Requires the applicant to send an SMS to 57575 by typing NSDLPAN followed by the 15-digit acknowledgement number that was provided to them after the application was successfully submitted. On doing so, the current status of the application is sent on the mobile number provided in the application form.
